WNMC has a long history of ministry in the West Newton community. The origins of WNMC date back to 1875 when the land was acquired to build the church. Completed in 1880, the church was established as a Methodist Episcopal church and remained so until 1968 when it became affiliated with the United Methodist Church denomination. It remained a United Methodist Church until July of 2023.
Today WNMC continues to follow the doctrine of Methodist founder John Wesley and preserves the traditional understanding regarding the Scriptures, the authenticity and authority of the Bible, the divinity of Jesus Christ, and the promise of salvation. All are welcome to become disciples of Christ and grow deeper in their faith.
WNMC continues to pray for discernment about its future and is now affiliated with the Global Methodist Church, setting a course for the future that builds on its past, embraces the challenges of today, and pursues fulfilling the "Great Commission" for generations to come.
We would love to hear about what God is doing in your life!
